1. Spanish F1 Grand Prix

2. Primavera Sound Festival

3. St John’s Eve (Sant Joan)
Sant Joan is the midsummer solstice celebration which marks the beginning of summer.
Celebrated with huge fireworks, the feast is, without question, a night of mystery and mysticism, when the legend says that the witches distribute their elixirs and love potions.

4. The Grec – Barcelona Summer Festival
Commonly known as the ‘The Grec’, this is one of the major arts festivals in the world. You can enjoy a great mix of national and international theatric events, contemporary dance & music performances, as well as classical and ancient music acts.

5. European Balloon Festival
Each year, thousands of people come to watch the sky full of beautifully colored hot air balloons from al over the Globe. This is definitely one of the most popular ballooning events in Europe and is hosted by Igualada, a town at about 31 miles (50km) inland from Barcelona.

6. Sonar
Sonar is one of the most famous European music festivals and unites some of the most creative artists and film makers around the world. The festival doesn’t take place in an open space (e.g a field or a square), so you will need to find accommodation in and around Barcelona.
