1.Hostal Nou Raval (El Raval)

Just steps off the world-famous Ramblas and in the center of the up-and-coming eclectic neighborhood of the Raval, Hostal Nou Raval is a great starting point for exploring the Ciutat Vell (old city). Tucked away on the centrally localted Carrer de l’Hospital, your home-away-from-home won’t pose a problem for you night owls. Within walking distance from the Borne, Gothic Quarter, Barceloneta, and the bars of the Raval, any night out will end with an easy trot back and with 24-hour access, this can be at any hour.

Air conditioning in every room is killer in summer, when sweltering humidity can make rest impossible, and the staff are maybe not the friendliest, but definitely efficient.

Breakfast isn’t included, but at a stone’s throw in any direction of the doorstep are a myriad of cafes/bakeries offering a latte and croissant for as little as 1.65 euro. The rooms are clean, albeit a bit small, and while a single private room, at 30 euro, offers a shared bathroom, a double at 60 euro with the bathroom en suite.
