Cheap eats €€

Hi there traveller, here are some inexpensive restaurants in Barcelona.

1. Anima (near MacBa in the Raval)
One of the new breed of restaurants popping up all over the trendy Raval neighborhood, Anima is a restaurant with modernist trappings and excellent food. At 10 euro, their lunch prix-fix menu is a great deal. Their organic menu changes daily, so you’re assured fresh food and great service.

Where:
Calle Angels, 6; 933 424 912
Metro line 3, Liceu stop

2.El Jardi (El Raval, just off calle Hospital)
For warm-weather days on a casual terrace, head over to El Jardi, a mostly mediterranean kitchen with a lunch menu at just 7.90 euro. Nestled into the corner of  the closed-in courtyard of an old pharmacy school, it offers a quiet stop amid the bustle of the city center.

Where:
c/ de l’Hospital, 56; 93 329 1550
Metro line 3, Liceu stop

3. Dao Kaitensushi (Paseo de Colon)
If a mechanical sushi buffet with plate after plate of make, nigiri, and sushi filing past and a set price for all you can eat doesn’t tempt you, I’m not sure what will. This deliciously fresh, healthy, and fun restaurant is a great way to fill up, night or day, and be ready for a night on the town. All you can eat, including a drink and dessert, 10 euro.

Where:
Paseo Colon, 4; 93 319 2458
Metro line 4, Barceloneta stop

4. Rosa Negra
Between the Gothic and the Born is Rosa Negra, an authentically delicious, cheap, and fun mexican restaurant (which are very hard to find in Spain!). Stop in before 8 to take advantage of their happy hour, which includes 3.50 margaritas. Their fare includes typical mexican dishes such as tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas and nachos, all at prices you can swallow.

Where:
Via Laietana, 45; 93 310 1798
Metro line 4, Jaume I stop

5. El Cafe
El Cafe is a place you’ll want to bring your friends to. Housed in an old factory, it’s now a modern little restaurant with antique touches serving up an array of salads, dips, and fresh sandwiches, along with a fun list of cocktails to transition into evening. Average price per person 15 euro (dinner with a drink).

Where:
Torrent de l’Olla, 48; 93 457 6097
Metro line 3, Diagonal stop (Gracia)
