Espanyol is the sports club based in Barcelona, Catalonia and Spain. Espanyol is best known for football team. Officially It’s called in the name of Reial Club Deportio Espanyol de Barcelona.
Espanyol is the 35 ranking in UEFA in 2009-10. Espanyol was founded by Angel Rodriguez in the year 1900. The club has change its name from Club Espanyol de futbol to Club Deportio Espanyol in the year 1901. Aspanyol’s original home was in Sarria district known as the Sociedad Espanola de Football. The Club meets some financial problems in 1960. Most of player of Espanyol joind the X Sporting Club. Espanyol has also known for their well known world class players. In 1901 Espanyol have won the Macaya Cup. The Club has won three times of the title of Campionat de Catalunya. The title have won in the year of 1906, 1908 and 1909. The club was relaunched in 1909. Espanyol have won their first first title of Copa Del Ray in 1929. Espanyol has qualified nine times for UEFA Cup.
Espanyol has won the Spanish cup in 2006 and reached the final in 1998. The club are the runner up in 2007 UEFA cup. Espanyol has a home ground in Cornella de Llobregat named Estadi Cornella EI Prat. They were moved in the stadium in the year 2009-10. Before that their home ground was Estaddi de Sarria in the district of Sarria- Sant Gervasi of Barcelona from 1923 to 1997. The club moved in Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys in 1997. The Espanyol is the sixth most successful football team in Spain. The club (Espanyol) has running successfully from beginning, winning the Campionat de Catalunya in the year 1903.
