Teleferic of Montjuic

After exploring Barcelona’s picturesque Montjuic, an exciting way to see the city from above, not to mention a good way to get to the beach, is the Teleferic of Montjuic. Starting from the top of the hilly, seaside park overlooking the city, it takes you first over the port promenade, then onto the southern-most point of the Barceloneta Beach. It goes slow enough for passengers to get a good feel for the natural environment that the city lies in and gives an absolutely beautiful view of the old port and classic spanish architecture that lines it. While the single cable system may seem a bit rickety, it’s perfectly safe and always a hit with kids. It operates year-round, although with reduced hours during the winter season. Tickets can be purchased at either end, the San Sebastian tower in the Barceloneta or the top of Mountjuic.

A one-way ticket is 7.50 for adults.

Why should I go?
You’ll get a bird’s eye view of the city, and beat the traffic to the beach.
