Airport

Barcelona is served by one major airport, El Prat, and a smaller airport to the north, in the town of Girona, from which many lower-cost airline flights take off and arrive to and from other points in Europe. Upon arrival at El Prat, you can take a free cart to pick up your bags, before making it out to where you can find various modes of ground transportation.

Taxi = €20, Aerobus = €3.90
A taxi is often the best and most convenient option for groups of three or more, especially if you’re carrying a heavy suitcase. Although the rate was recently raised to a minimum of 20 euro for taxis from the airport, the rate shouldn’t be much more than that for most points within Barcelona. You’ll see the taxi stand to the left upon immediately exiting the airport and shouldn’t have to wait long to get one.
Another option is the Aerobus A1, which at 3.90 euro is a good deal. This takes you directly from the airport to Plaza Catalunya and can be found right outside the main terminal. It runs every 15 minutes from 6 to 1 am.

If you know you’re going to have to take the metro to get to your final destination, or need to get to the train station from the airport, another good option is to take the regional train, or “cercanias,” which for 3.20 will get you from the airport to various points throughout the city.

To and from Girona airport
To get to the airport of Girona, the best option is to go by bus, and costs 12 euro. The trip takes about an hour, and bus routes are scheduled according to flight departures and arrivals so you won’t have to wait hours at the airport.
